Bio: I'm a mom of three. My youngest son died on his 18th birthday. A beautiful life of a college bound graduating senior with endless talents ended by a decision to try acid. This is my blog to tell Riley's story in hopes that his story is spread far and wide to deter others from making such a fatal choice. I am also here to aide in parent awareness.
Thank you so much for sharing your son, Riley. If I had known him, I am sure I would have loved him! I can know him a little bit through your writing and sharing. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I can relate to your blog in May, Parent’s Reach. The first couple paragraphs hit home especially. You have a wonderful gift of communication, and though I do not, but wish I did, I can find expression in your blogs. Again, thanks.
Recently, our church had a planning meeting for an upcoming event focusing on the heroin epidemic in the area. I was asked to share my son’s story. This was the first time I had made his story public. The point I was hoping to get across at the community planning meeting was that this was a kid next door, a kid at their schools, a kid in their church, a kid on their sports team, a guy just like any other in the area. I’m afraid you probably hear too many stories like this these days, don’t you?

“I missed something. I do not know what I could have done different.”
Again, thanks,
